Our timeline — from 2005 to today
A water-soluble coenzyme Q10 is born
A team of Slovenian experts from the National Institute of Chemistry develops a special water-soluble form of coenzyme Q10 that can be delivered as a syrup — answering a need identified at the Paediatric Clinic in Ljubljana.
Valens takes the technology forward
The young company Valens acquires the technology and names the ingredient Q10Vital®. Quvital® syrup follows, and later capsules, distributed through Slovenian pharmacies.
Clinical proof of bioavailability
Clinical studies show that coenzyme Q10 in the water-soluble Q10Vital® form is absorbed on average 4× better than traditional fat-soluble CoQ10.
The first vitamin D oral spray
Valens launches D-plus, the first oral spray with vitamin D, and receives an innovation award for it.
Oral sprays become a core format
The product range expands with oral sprays as a convenient alternative to capsules and tablets — the beginning of our specialisation in liquid and spray formats.
Collagen meets Q10
Valens Collagen Premium combines water-soluble Q10 with hydrolysed collagen, supported by clinical research demonstrating synergistic effects on skin.

Two further studies confirm the effectiveness of the vitamin D3 oral spray and establish Q10Vital® as the best-absorbed form of coenzyme Q10 available.

The GMP certificate requires that manufacturers take all necessary steps to ensure products are safe for consumers. GMP regulations enable companies to minimise or eliminate errors in record keeping, personnel qualifications, sanitation, cleanliness, equipment verification, process validation and complaint handling. Most importantly, GMP ensures traceability and safety of selected raw materials at every step of the process.
IFS Food standard

The focus of all IFS standards is on enhancing transparency in the supply chain; the IFS Food Standard in particular is used for auditing food manufacturers. It combines the requirements of the HACCP system with the principles of good business and hygiene practice. This standard is especially important for private label manufacturers, as it contains many requirements related to compliance with customer specifications.

FDA-registered facility

Our production site is registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a food facility under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) — mandatory for any site that manufactures, packs or holds food supplements destined for the United States, and renewable every two years. For you it means we can legally produce for your US launch, the site is open to FDA inspection, and the traceability records an FDA audit requires are already in place. Registration is not FDA approval: the FDA does not approve dietary supplements or their manufacturers.
